Wow! 1892 Victorian Sterling Silver Figural Rifleman, Rifles & Bayonets Trophy

  
Stunning Victorian sterling silver trophy cup hallmarked Sheffield 1892 by Walker & Hall. The trophy, the lid & the figural rifleman finial are all fully hallmarked sterling silver. The trophy features a realistic figural rifleman as a finial to the lid and, very unusually in my experience, features realistic figural rifles & bayonets as handles.

To complete the "Rifleman" theme, a rifleman is superbly engraved within the frontal cartouche. Each cartouche is formed from an engraved floral decoration and this continues on both the lid & on the base. The second cartouche is vacant.

Internally the trophy is gilded. The trophy comes complete with an ebonised wooden plinth with a thin leather base. Sterling Silver Trophy & Lid: Weight: 523.6 gm. Height (to rim): 200 mm.
