WONDERFUL VICTORIAN SOLID SILVER ARTICULATED FISH SPICE BOX (JUDAICA). This is a fine quality Victorian Solid Silver Articulated Fish Spice Box, i would estimate this rare Spice Box dates to circa 1880 making it nearly 140 years old, the quality is stunning and the decoration is breath taking.

This exceptional antique silver spice box. Has been realistically modelled in the form of a fish. This impressive fish shaped box has an articulated body, allowing the fish's position to be customised.

The body of this antique silver spice box is embellished with separate dorsal and pectoral fins, in addition to rows of chased scales. The forked caudal/tail fin is further ornamented with engraved textures replicating the fish's natural features.

Victorian silver fish box has a hinged cover/head with a hook fastening. The impressive head of the fish is embellished with engraved decoration and accented with two wonderfully ornate eyes. The quality of the craftsmanship is superb, this would have once belonged to a very wealthy Victorian Gentleman and sat proudly on the table top ready to be used, this was many many years ago when times were so very different, if this spice box could talk i can just imagine what fascinating stories it could tell, this fish spice box is so very tactile and once held it has the most wonderful feel. This will add something very special to any collection, my photos dont do it justice. I cant find any hallmarks, it has been tested and is silver.
