Victorian Waltham Model 1888 Sterling Silver OF Pocket Watch with Chain

  

A very nice and stunning looking piece. A complete package and ready to wear. 5cm (50mm) across the case. Waltham model 1888 dating to c1894, 127 years old.

B (Alfred Bedford - manager of the Waltham Watch Co, Holborn Circus, London) sterling silver fully hallmarked case, Birmingham 1894. Snap on front and hinged rear some minor marks around edges of the covers, some signs of wear. Mineral glass crystal in great condition. Dial in great condition, no hairline cracks or chips, signed A.

Blued steel hands, Roman Numerals. The 1888 15 jewel movement is in good condition, running well and keeping good time. Complete with a solid sterling silver fully hallmarked Albert chain dated Birmingham 1865. Attached is an antique silver 3d coin fob, the fob dating to 1893 and pictures Queen Victoria. The chain is 61 grams. Presented in a jewellers pocket watch box and velvet jewellers pouch for the chain. Great for wedding, graduation, retirement, Christmas, Fathers day or birthday present. Serviced including modern "unbreakable" alloy mainspring. Servicing is defined as the piece being disassembled, cleaned, inspected and adjusted if necessary. It is then re-assembled and correctly oiled, timed for accuracy and adjusted if required. The mainspring will be replaced and the piece will be bench-tested for at least one day. I restore all of my watches to a fully working condition. It is my aim to provide a watch that is not only running but working to a usable state. My watches can be worn and used for their intended purpose on a daily basis. The time keeping should certainly be within +- 5 minuted per 24 hours but I aim for +-3 or better.
