Victorian Valentine Love Heart 1900 Solid Silver Pill Jewellery Earring Box

  

Victorian solid silver valentine love heart pill or jewellery box. Stamped with the full Birmingham hallmark for 1900 and the makers mark for Henry Matthews of Vittoria Street, Birmingham. Right in the centre of the famous jewellery quarter.

Lovely planished (hand beaten) pattern to the body with a rope design around the top of the lid and a blank cartouche to the centre. Stands 1 3/16 inches 3 cm tall, 2 inches 5 cm wide and 2 1/8 inches 5.3 cm long.

The silver weight is 36 grams. Excellent condition, no damage or repairs just surface marks and wear from age and use as you'd expect. The hinge is in good working order and the lid fit nicely. Apologies for any reflections in the pictures, these are not marks in the silver. Happy to answer any questions.
