Victorian Sterling Silver Heart Pendant Locket Box 1899

  

This beautiful Victorian heart pendant opens as a locket or pill box. It bears an English silver mark for the year 1899.

It measures 1 3/4" including the top ring and is 1 3/8" wide. It weighs 9.9 grams. The heart is lavishly engraved with elegant scrolls in the repousse' style. The is a blank space for a monogram on each side.

The front lifts up easily on its hinge. On the rim of the lid is the lion passant for sterling silver and the date letter "Z" for 1899. At the top is a small ring and a bail for a chain. With 16,000 sq ft, the Antique Attic is the largest privately owned antique shop in Alabama.
