Victorian Solid Silver Open Work Filigree Inlay Coin Purse, Original Silk Lined

  

Beautiful Victorian Solid Silver Filigree Coin Purse, Original Red Silk Lined. Lovely antique purse with scalloped shaping, the front and back decorated with silver open work filigree flowers scrolls and acanthus leaves.

Cartouche to the front was originally monogrammed, this has worn and I cannot make it out. Top catch opens and closes perfectly.

Internally the purse frame is black leather covered and is lined with its original red silk with three compartments. The silver is unmarked, as was often the case on these items from this era. It has been acid tested and tests as silver.

In excellent pre-loved and used antique condition with slight wear to the outer leather. Silver is in very good condition with one very small ding noted to the rear just below the flower engrave cartouche to the right. I have given it a quick wipe over, but as with all my items I don't over clean or polish. There may be the odd age related wear/mark commensurate with age, anything of note is listed above.
