A brilliant pair of hallmarked Victorian silver extending spectacles with original lenses and in their original velvet-lined tin case. The extending arms stamped with the maker's mark, the Birmingham anchor town mark and the date letter for Birmingham 1849. In remarkable antique condition with no damage or repair, the extending arms working perfectly with no play to the hinges. I have not cleaned the spectacles as they have a nice aged patina and colour, so judge it best to let the new owner decide whether or not to clean them.
Case is in excellent original condition with hinge and clasps in good order. Tin case: 125 x 40 x 12mm. I have many stunning pieces of collector's silver in my shop, please look at my other items. I aim only to list antique silver items that are without damage, repair, alteration or undue wear.
My silver pieces are ideal as special gifts, for collectors, for investors, or for resale by dealers. I provide clear descriptions and photos. The silver is photographed in flat natural light, but silver is so reflective that black spots from the camera and other reflections are sometimes unavoidable.
Please check the dimensions of the object carefully as apparent size can be deceptive. Bank details provided on request. Sizes, weights etc are all approximate.
