Description: Pair of sterling silver knife rests with baluster style bars and pierced triangular ends. These are a marriage of similar parts, made by John Evans II for one, John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater for the other, and assayed in London, 1863 and 1888, respectively. John Evans II [JE] & John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater [JATS].

·925 Sterling Silver [lion passant]. 1863 [h] & 1888 [N].

Measurements: There is a slight variation between the two knife rests, but approximately 64mm wide (end to end) and the triangular ends approximately 37mm wide by 33mm high. Historic break and solder repair to the end of the oldest knife rest (photos 9 & 10).
