VICTORIAN ELKINGTON & Co 1883 SOLID STERLING SILVER FOUR SIDED FLARED VASE 193g

  
This is a Rare and Desirable piece of Victorian British Silver. Made by Frederick Elkington & Co in Solid Sterling Silver it is a Slightly Curved Four Sided Vase with a Square Base that Flares Outwards as it goes up and has been Gilded inside as a sign of Quality. It is Fully Hallmarked on the base as photographed with the Duty Mark for Queen Victoria, FE for the Maker's Mark, the Lion Passant Mark for Silver, the Anchor Mark for Birmingham Assay Office, the Date Letter i for 1883 and it has been electronically tested at a precious metal refinery to confirm the Silver Content. It is also marked with the Code Number 15837 and Elkington & Co Manchester. It weighs 193.2g, measures 11.6cm high and is 6.9cm square at the base and 8.4cm square at the top. It is in a used but good condition for its age with some minor surface wear that could easily be polished out and some wear to the gilding inside as you would expect. There is no damage apart from the most minute surface dent that I have tried to show in the last photo. It is so small and not through to the other side as the Silver is quite thick but it could be polished out if required and I don't believe it detracts.
