Victorian 1876 Hallmarked Solid Silver One 1 Pint Tankard Christening Mug 329g

  
Super quality hallmarked solid silver one pint tankard, christening mug gift. Full hallmark London hallmark with the date letter for 1876. And the makers mark for John Edward Walter & John Barnard (Barnard and Sons Ltd) 1863 to 1875. They were based in Hatton Garden London. Slightly tapered body with a C shaped handle and raised base. Bead work decoration to the base and Loral decoration to the top rim.

Engraved floral sprays to each side and a cartouche to centre front. Stands 4 7/8 inches 12.3 cm tall, 3 3/8 inches 8.5 cm in diameter at the top rim and 4 1/8 inches 10.5 cm handle to rim. The silver weight is 329 grams. Excellent condition, no damage or repairs, minor surface signs of age and use as you'd expect at 146 years old. The handle seam line shows to the top of the handle, this is how it was made and not damage.

Only mentioned for those not familiar with old silver. Apologies for any reflections in the pictures, these are not marks in the silver. No engraving to any part of the mug.
