SUPERB VICTORIAN SOLID SILVER HIGHLY ORNATE PICTORIAL CIRCULAR TABLE SNUFF BOX. This is a Stunning fine quality Victorian Solid Silver Highly Ornate Pictorial Circular Table Snuff Box, This Beautiful Snuff Box was crafted by the highly sought after Victorian Silversmiths Daniel & John Wellby , it was Assayed in London in 1880 making 138 years old, the quality is stunning, the pull off top has the most beautiful embossed pictorial scene of a couple dancing while a young gentleman standing upon a tree stump is playing the music on his flute, in the background is there dwelling place and all this is surrounded by the most beautiful detailed embossed trees and foliage, to the body of the circular snuff box you will see embossed flowers and foliage in abundance so very detailed, this sits upon a mottled ground with borders of the most delicate arches, the top edge and the bottom edge are finished with ornate crimped decoration, its breath taking, to the side of the snuff box is in clean condition. He quality of the craftsmanship is superb, this would have once belonged to a very wealthy Victorian family and sat pride of place on there table, this was many many years ago when times were so very different, if this snuff box could talk i can just imagine what fascinating stories it could tell, this snuff box is so very tactile and once held it has the most wonderful feel.

This will add something very special to any collection, my photos dont do it justice. This has hallmarks to the body. Lovely condition with just 1 nick to the crimped edge on the top and a little bruising to the inside edge, just mentioned for accuracy.
