Superb 1857 Victorian Sterling Silver Mounted Crown Green Bowling Trophy Bowls

  
Stunning matched pair of Victorian presentation crown green bowling bowls presented as trophies in 1857. Each bowl is made from very heavy lignum vitae and each bowl has an applied unmarked sterling silver shield & a roundel. President's Bowls PRESENTED BY GEORGE H.

Each roundel is engraved R. Accompanying the bowls is a pair of solid turned wood plinths for display purposes, probably of a later date to the bowls. Each bowl weighs a very heavy 1.720 kg & each plinth weighs approx 67 gm. Bowl Diameter (full size crown green bowls): 120 mm. Height of Plinth: 35 mm.

Diameter of base of plinth: 85 mm. Summary: As can be seen from the photos this pair of Victorian trophy bowls are superbly decorative & would grace any trophy room or study.
