Sterling Silver Soup Tureen - Adams Style - Antique Victorian. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver soup tureen has a plain oval shaped form onto a plain oval spreading pedestal foot to a collet rim, in the classic English Adam style. The surface of this impressive antique soup tureen is plain and embellished with embossed fluted decoration to the lower portion.

The upper rim of the tureen is ornamented with an impressive applied gadroon style border. This antique soup tureen retains the original hallmarked push fit cover ornamented with further fluted decoration to the domed portion. The cover is surmounted with an impressive Adams style urn shaped finial. The tureen is fitted with fine and impressive loop handles embellished with collared lobed decoration accented with leaf decoration to each handpiece. The rim of the foot is encompassed with further applied gadroon style decoration reflecting the same design as that of the body.

This antique soup tureen is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The applied and embossed decoration is all very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body and rim of the cover are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian silverware.
