A very elegant and beautiful Victorian sterling silver and glass claret jug of a decent size. It has a very clever mechanical system that allows the lid to be opened with a light squeeze of the handle.

It is a beautiful and very high quality claret jug with finely engraved decoration to the glass and silver. Fully hallmarked Sterling silver, 1863 London. Makers mark of Richards & Brown. It is a remarkable condition for its age with no problems to mention.

The glass is in excellent condition with no breaks, chipping or deep scratching. The hinge is excellent order with the chain being secure and undamaged.
