Description: Sterling silver combination sovereign holder & vesta case, with acanthus decoration and a vacant cartouche. Made by Thomas Hayes, and assayed in Birmingham, 1900. ·925 Sterling Silver [lion passant]. Measurements: 73mm long (82mm long inc suspension ring) by 32mm wide by 19mm thick.

Sovereign holder push button, clasp and hinge all good. Good strong vesta hinge spring snaps open and closed, like it should. Original bright gilding to the vesta interior, but evidence the sovereign lid was also once gilded, has now worn. Precious Metal Weight: The total weight of ·925 sterling silver is 42.8g.
