Interesting & collectable Victorian carved ebony Ceremonial Presentation Mallet bearing an unmarked silver presentation plaque which tests as solid silver. The mallet itself is ebony which bears all-over decorative carving. The silver presentation roundel plaque is engraved.

PRESENTED TO WILLIAM ASTON ESQ. CHAIRMAN OF THE HANDSWORTH URBAN SANITARY AUTHORITY BY MESSRS. ALEXANDER & HENMAN THE ARCHITECTS AT THE LAYING OF THE MEMORIAL STONE OF THE PUBLIC BUILDINGS.
