Rare Sterling Silver Combination Vesta Cheroot Cutter London 1855 by Charles Rawlings & William Summers. Of rounded rectangular shape with two lidded compartments, one for matches and the other with cutter and hole for inserting cheroot end. Both compartments have gilt interiors. There's a striker to one side and a worn family crest with monogram to front which could be polished out but I prefer to leave as part of it's history. Bit of wear to one end of hinge but very solid with no movement and both lids close tightly. Hallmarked in three places to interior. Measures 5.3 cm not including suspension loop.
