Superb and rare Victorian sterling silver and brown hardwood novelty walking stick / vinaigrette, made circa 1875. This is a lovely novelty walking stick / cane with a superb and finely chased silver handle with a hinged vinaigrette with swirling leaves. The lid opens and the inside has a gilded and pierced grille. The silver has a suspension ring. The base of the silver collar is engraved''Mark Maker Burlington Arcade.
The silver handle is mounted onto a fine dark hardwood tapering shaft with ferrule to the bottom. The cane is 35-1/2 inches / 902 mm long. The cane is in excellent condition. All items are well packed in brand new carton boxes and appropriate bubble wrap / tissue paper etc.
