A rare Victorian sterling silver mounted ceramic jug / flagon. The silver is hallmarked for London 1891 with the makers marks being CS FS for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd. The ceramic is marked to its base with the. Maker Taylor & Tunnicliffe and the British design registration number 101826 for the year 1888.

It has been superbly designed having a basket effect body. The silver is free from dings splits holes and repairs, the odd faint mark, the ceramic is free from chips cracks and repairs. 7 inches (17.5cms) tall by 5 inches (12.7cms) across including the handle and weighs 543 grams. A very unusual and rare example.
