A very rare English Victorian antique solid silver lighter taper / candle or chandelier lighter. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1898 with the makers mark being that of Lawrence Emanuel. It is unusually long almost certainly used by a servant to light candles high on a wall or chandeliers and has a sliding mechanism to move the wax lighter up and down.
It has been superbly designed and is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs, it works perfectly. 12.25 inches (31cm) long excluding the loop and weighs 24 grams. If you have any queries etc...
