RARE STUNNING LARGE VICTORIAN Sampson Mordan SOLID SILVER BARLEY TWIST DOUBLE ENDED COMBINATION DIP PEN-PENCIL. This is a beautiful very special & rare large Victorian Solid Silver Barley Twist Double Ended Combination Dip Pen - Pencil, this was crafted by the highly sought after Victorian Silversmith Sampson Mordan, it was crafted circa 1880 making it 140 years old , The detailing as you would expect is lovely, the body of the Dip Pen - Pencil has the most stunning Barely Twist design which is breath taking, the design of this combination Sampson Mordan Dip Pen - Pencil is extremely rare as this seems to be a rare design with the dip pen to one end and the propelling pencil to the other end, you will find most combination Dip Pens-Pencil use the same end in turn, this makes this Dip Pen very rare, to each end on the body you will see sliders that propel and retract the dip pen and pencil so they can both be propelled at the same time, to each slider you will see an engraving, In Memory of RLD and the other slider has S Mordan. This still retains lead to the pencil and an old nib which could be replaced , the quality of the craftsmanship is superb, this would have once belonged to a very wealthy Gentleman - Lady in the Victorian period when letter writting was very important and the only way to communicate, in a time when things were so very different, this is an extremely rare form of Combination Dip Pen - Pencil and crafted beautifully as you would expect, this would look absolutely breath taking in any collection.

It is so very tactile and once picked up has the most wonderful feel, this will add something very special to any collection my photos dont do it justice. 15 cm length which is nearly 6 inches.... Closed 9.5 cm length.
