This wonderfully rare little cartridge form butt marker case is in very good antique condition given its 120 years old showing only very light surface wear and a few tiny dents here and there, but certainly nothing more than you should reasonably expect to see on a piece of its age and intended purpose, it measures, 9 cm in height and has a diameter of app 3 cm and was made by silversmiths, T & J Bragg. The ten beautifully chased Scottish silver markers show very minimal wear and are a later replacement and made in Edinburgh by silversmiths, Hayward & Stott.

This was used to select which box or position a person would shoot from and is still used to this day by traditionalists of the sport. All in all, a very nice usable sporting antique and getting rare.
