Quality Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Capstan Inkwell with Glass Liner 1897

  

A fine example of a top quality silver capstan inkwell. It has a glass liner with star-cut base. The lid is engraved and dated H.

It is a stylish good quality piece by top maker Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co and. Is clearly hallmarked for London 1897.

It is in very good condition. There are no major damages and it displays beautifully. There are some faint surface marks and a few light scratches and minor dinks but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished is ready for use. Base Diameter : 3 1/4 (8.5cm).
