Impressive Stunning Sterling silver fretted inkstand by George Fox London 1863

  

Exquisite Sterling silver fretted inkstand with two glass and silver hinged lid inkwells by George Fox from 1863 in Victorian style, the stand with openwork scrolling floral design with acanthus knees and scrolled feet. The stand measures 25.2cm in length by 15cm width by 8cm in height with inkwells in situ and weighs 440g without inkwells and 788g total with the inkwells.

The inkwells measure 6cm x 5.6cm x 4.7cm. Inscription as shown to front central cartouche'IN REMEMBRANCE OF February 1865'.

Crisply hallmarked in a number of places and stamped'LAMBERT COVENTRY ST LONDON. In fabulous condition with clear hallmarks. Please see photos for confirmation.
