HM SOLID SILVER VICTORIAN CLARET JUG - 1878. This beautiful piece is clearly hallmarked, and would be a lovely addition to any collection, or for everyday use for which it was intended. Hallmarked Sterling Silver, London, 1878 Silversmiths Richard Hodd & Son. (Richard Hodd I & Richard Hodd II) of Hatton Garden London.

The claret jug measures approximately 18cm high, 14 cm at its widest point, the lid is 8cm in diameter. Quite remarkable condition, no nibbles to glassware (advantage of being round I suppose) no wiggle or movement on hinge, crisp hallmarks as stated, a real piece of history.
