WHAT A FABULOUS ENGLISH ANTIQUE HALLMARKED VICTORIAN SILVER LIDDED TUREEN. IT IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And of a fabulous weight and very special being in such fine order. A quite fabulous mid 19th Century hallmarked silver item of huge size. It has a most attractive shape.

It is dated 1852 and by very good makers Elkington & Co. Marked to all the components. The handle in itself is amazing.

This is a truly wonderful lidded tureen (refer to image). Very large at 11.625 inches in width.

Depth is 8.75 inches. Weight is a staggering 1884 grams (60.58 troy ounces).

A wonderful and highly unusual entree dish. Definitely one for the collectors! A truly special antique lot well worth owning.

The condition is excellent and all it needs is to be used. All in all a simply great item. Would make a very nice present indeed. This lovely dish is of exceptional quality and is a most delightful piece of hefty table silver.

It is engraved with an armorial and motto LUCES ALAMUS. The other side also features a contemporary presentation inscription dated 1852.
