GORGEOUS Victorian SOLID Silver HUGE Aesthetic Era LOCKET Keepsake PENDANT. This is a LARGE, substantial solid silver locket from the 1880's, a genuine Victorian keepsake treasure. It isn't marked that I can find but has been fully tested and is guaranteed to be SOLID Sterling purity silver. It measures 4.4 cms, (6 cms including the bale), by 3.4 cms and it weighs a heft 17.7 grams, 0.62 ounces, excluding its chain. As can be seen, it is charmingly engraved to the front with a typical aethetic era depiction of foliate forms and chirping bird.

It opens to reveal a seemingly all original interior; blue lined compartments, suitable for storing and displaying photographs, locks of hair or other such personal keepsakes. It is complete with liners, silver retaining rims and glass panels to both sides. Other than a tiny pimple to the rear which in no way detracts, this is in a splendid, all original condition. The hinge and clasp are sound and secure and this snaps closed nice and tightly. It is fitted on a contemporary Sterling silver chain of 20 inches length, included out of courtesy, but obviously doesn't do this fabulous locket justice. Don't let this beauty get away!
