EARLY VICTORIAN SOLID SILVER RUM DECANTER / BOTTLE LABEL. A really good early Victorian solid silver rum decanter label. It is fully hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for Birmingham, Queen Victoria's head, the maker's mark GU, and the date letter F for 1854. All the marks are nice and crisp. The label itself measures 4.6cms x 2.4cms.
From the top of the chain to the bottom of the label is 11cms. It weighs just under 7g. It is in very good condition with no splits or holes, just a bit of surface wear commensurate with age, which is to be expected as the label is now 170 years old. I have quite a few vintage and antique silver decanter labels, including labels with the crescent moon shape - please see my other items.
