It is made to burn solid fuel and has been stripped, cleaned, heatproof treated and polished to bring out its original character. This is an immaculate condition insert in a Victorian arched style, distinguishable by its use of decorative ironwork around a detail-lined arch and hood. Ours is as good as new after a full restoration. Made of solid, very heavyweight, cast iron in excellent condition. Complete with fully functioning ratchet damper, ornate fret bars and ash pan cover. During restoration we replaced the solid fuel grate with a reconditioned period grate. This fireplace is ready to install and will add warmth and character to your home. Fits neatly over an existing fireplace opening and will fit into most standard mantle surrounds or stand proud as it is. Width of fireplace opening 43cm. Height of fireplace opening 51cm. Width to outer edge of arch detailing 87cm. Height to outer edge of arch detailing 88cm. To fit your chimney breast the hole in the wall needs to be at least 69cm wide and 79cm high.
