Beautiful Victorian Solid Silver 7 Strand Chatelaine With Accoutrements

  

This beautiful seven strand solid silver chatelaine with a full set of accoutrements is attributed to Lawrence Emanuel although not hallmarked, and is dated c1899. The overall design is very much of the art nouveau period with an infusion of foliate motifs and cherub faces with a central hinged plaque that suspends three of the strands, the other two plaques suspend a further two strands each. As to the accoutrements themselves all but one are of the period and are typical of what was to be found on a chatelaine of this period, a full list follows: Scissors are by Lawrence Emanuel and are dated 1901, cased tool set is by Lockwood Brothers and date to 1889, Vesta is by William Neale of Chester and is dated 1895, Thimble case with silver thimble is also Chester by John Troup dated 1881, the needle case hallmark is very rubbed, notepad with wipe boards is by Colen Hewer Cheshire and is dated 1890, the odd man out is the pencil by William Vale and is dated 1913. Condition is excellent throughout with no reportable issues, please be aware that no cleaning has been performed so that the piece can be seen as is. Total silver weight is approx.
