Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Teapot. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver teapot; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian teapot, in sterling standard silver, has a melon shaped form.

The upper portion of the incurved panelled teapot is encompassed with an impressive band of flat engraved panels of trellis decoration bordered with stylised bud swags and in addition to scrolling borders and interlacing stemmed leaf designs. This antique silver teapot is fitted with a hallmarked flush hinged cover ornamented with further flat engraved decoration reflecting that of the body; the flush hinge indicates the high quality of the piece. The cover is surmounted with the original and impressive panelled finial embellished with further scrolling flat engraved decoration, securing to the interior with a wing nut. The fine and impressive C shaped handle is ornamented with flat engraved decoration to the handpiece, in addition to a scrolling thumbpiece and leaf decorated lobed motif to the upper terminal in junction with the body.

The exceptional cast sterling silver swan necked spout is embellished with tiered scrolling ornamentation accented with a lobed quilted design to the underside and a scrolling leaf motif to the moulded lip. The plain spreading foot of this antique English teapot is encompassed with a plain moulded border reflecting the shape of the teapot body. The underside of the teapot bears the retailer's mark'Lambert, Conventry St, London'.

This antique sterling silver teapot is an exceptional example of its type. This Victorian teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. This exceptional example of Victorian silverware has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. The flat engraved decoration is all very crisp and the cast and applied details are very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Victorian silverware. Length from back of handle to tip of spout 27.7cm/10.9. Diameter of body 16cm/6.3.
