A wonderful set of antique Victorian sterling silver Kings pattern canteen of cutlery for 12 persons hallmarked in London for 1891 - 1896 by George Maudsley Jackson and Aldwinckle & Slater. This canteen of cutlery has been made to the highest standard and remains in excellent condition.

12 x table forks: 21.5 cms (8.5) in length, London 1891 by George Maudsley Jackson. 12 x dessert forks: 18.6 cms (7.3) in length, London 1891 by George Maudsley Jackson. 12 x table/soup spoons: 22.9 cms (9) in length, London 1892 by George Maudsley Jackson. 12 x dessert spoons: 18.2 cms (7.2) in length, London 1892/3 by Aldwinckle & Slater. 12 x tea spoons: 15 cms (5.9) in length, London 1896 by Aldwinckle & Slater.

2 x basting/serving spoons: 33.3 cms (13.1) in length, London 1893 by George Maudsley Jackson. 12 x table knives: 24.5 cms (9.6) in length, London 1972 by William Comyns & Sons Ltd. 12 x dessert knives: 21.5 cms (8.5) in length, London 1972 by William Comyns & Sons Ltd. This set sits neatly in a Mahongany box measuring 45 cms (17.7") x 32.5 cms (12.7") x 24 cms (9.5).

The quality and condition are excellent and it has been re-fitted to make it look more presentable. The cutlery ranges in date from 1891 - 1896 and was made by George Maudsley Jackson and Aldwinckle & Slater. The Kings pattern silver handled knives, which match the cutlery perfectly well, were made in London for 1972 by William Comyns & Sons Ltd.

The total weight of this set is 156.9 troy ounces (4.879 grams) without the knives and box. There are intertwined initials on the brass plaque on top of the box.
