A stunning Victorian silver gilt and glass scent bottle for a chatelaine. The lid is set with a cabochon red stone and has scroll work decoration to it. I don't know if the stone is a garnet or glass or a paste stone. The bottom is cut glass with this beautiful pattern to it, there is a suspension ring near the hinge of the lid to attach to a chatelaine.
The lid is marked sterling and has a makers mark I'm guessing this was probably made in America potentially somewhere between 1880 and 1910. In terms of condition please study all photos, I will note the following the lid is in good order and opens and closes nicely and the hinge is good. There are signs of wear on the glass in places. I cannot see any major damage but please form your own opinion and ask questions if required. My sight is not the best. If there was a stopper or cork lining with this is piece it is not present. Beautiful piece, all offers considered so don't be afraid. This item is in the category "Antiques\Silver\Solid Silver\Bottles". The seller is "jakemonks84" and is located in this country: GB.
