Welcome to William Sharpe Antiques. Here today for your consideration we have this superb Victorian assembled twelve place cutlery service, produced in the popular Kings pattern. This sensational set of eighty-eight (88) pieces includes twelve dinner knives, twelve. Knives, twelve table/soup spoons, twelve dessert spoons, twelve teaspoons, twelve dinner forks, twelve. Forks, two salt spoons, sauce ladle and butter knife.

Condition is good used, with no major damage to note. Each piece is free from monogram or crest (some original, others erased). There is no structural damage to each piece, with the usual signs of wear present throughout. As this is an assembled set, there are minor size and pattern variations piece-to-piece, but all in all it's a very good quality collection of sterling silver cutlery.

Each piece has London assay, with the exception of the knives (Sheffield) and one dessert spoon (Exeter). A breakdown of the cutlery is as follows. Tablespoons: Mary Chawner (4x1837, 2x1836), Elizabeth Eaton (2x1857), Charles Lias (2x1845), Mary Chawner & George William Adams (1x1840) & William Robert Smily (1x1843). Total weight: 1,215gm (average 101gm per piece).

Dessert spoons: Mary Chawner (6x1837), Elizabeth Eaton (3x1857), Chawner & Co (1x1852), Charles Boyton II (1x1895) & William Rawlings Sobey (Exeter, 1x1845). Total weight: 762gm (average 63gm per piece). Teaspoons: Mary Chawner (6x1837), Chawner & Co (5x1846, 1x1845). Total weight: 411gm (average 34gm per piece). Dinner forks: Mary Chawner (3x1837), Joseph & Albert Savory (3x1836), Elizabeth Eaton (2x1857), Chawner & Co (2x1841), William Eaton (1x1843) & Charles Shipway (1x1828). Total weight: 1,204gm (average 100gm per piece). Entrée forks: Mary Chawner (5x1837), Chawner & Co (3x1846, 1x1841), James Beebe (3x1840). Total weight: 746gm (average 62gm per piece). Salt spoons: Chawner & Co, c-1875. Butter knife: William Eaton, c-1839.

Sauce ladle: Chawner & Co, c-1852. Total Silver Weight: 4,524gm 145.45 tr. The twelve dinner and entrée knives are Shefflield, c-1974 (sterling handles, stainless steel blades). All in all, this is a very fine assembled set of Kings pattern sterling silver cutlery. A rare opportunity not to be missed.
