Antique Victorian 1893 Sterling Silver Ruby Red Glass Perfume/Cologne Bottle. Presented is an antique, Victorian, English sterling silver and glass dresser/perfume/cologne bottle made by Arthur Willmore Pennington of Birmingham in 1893. This late 19th century piece is made of ruby or cranberry red glass and has an applied sterling silver lid done in a very decorative, hand openwork form.
The silver portion has a fine gold wash and is hand chased with decoration. The lid closes securely shut. This piece could be used as an inkwell. The lid is marked with the anchor for Birmingham, the lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter t for the year 1893 and a maker's mark for Arthur Willmore Pennington. This piece is in excellent overall condition for its age. The glass stopper has a couple of tiny chips and there is some roughage along the glass rim, but this is not noticeable unless the bottle is open. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution.
