A fine example of a solid sterling silver table bell, dating from the end of the reign of Queen Victoria. It is clearly hallmarked on the side for London 1893 although the maker's mark is too rubbed to be discernible. As an indication of the quality of this bell, not only does the handle carry separate hallmarks, so also does the ringer. The body of the bell is plain and difficult to photograph!
With a lovely Repousse worked handle. The handle feels slightly loose but that doesn't affect the light ring tone of the bell. Weight: 52g Height: 10cm Diameter: 5.7cm.
