Antique Solid Silver Thimble Holder Case For Chatelaine

  

In good condition, a solid silver thimble holder with hanging ring for attachment to a chatelaine. No marks but the style is English C 1880 -1900. Not all pieces with a chatelaine came marked - it wasn't compulsory so it depended on the silversmiths. The lid does not close perfectly as the original inner lining has risen just slightly - see picture. Size 1.75 x 1.0 inch (not including chain).
