Exquisite details and workmanship featuring 5 Scottish thistle and leave spiraling around the top cover. Top mounted rare Imperial Topaz measures approximately 9.8mm diameter and is set through the cover.
A nice Clear Stone and in excellent condition. Topaz mounted silver lid is hinged and original. Interior pierced sterling cover is original and excellent with a snug fit.. Nicely marbled mull rams horn. An excellent and rare original example worthy of an advanced collection. Hinged top and vented cover plate in good original working order Silver shield cartouche has not been monogrammed or otherwise engraved or polished. No makers mark as is usual with all other antique Scottish mulls I have encountered.Retains the old original used cotton in the receiver. Silver mounts are in good unpolished condition displaying original patina with some rubs to high points. Gem has been tested as natural Imperial Orange Topaz and is original to the piece.
