A fantastic antique novelty silver matchbook cover. Very well made in cool sterling silver, it is large sized matchbook cover, the box of matches sliding into the recess at the front. It stands on four stylish globe feet and the top is adorned by a wonderful miniature silver chamberstick, a match can be placed into the chamberstick. Fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Birmingham assay office, 1894, Andrew Darrett and Sons.
A nice weighty piece with a very interesting design! Good used condition overall, light surface wear commensurate with age and use.
