This very elegant Victorian silver wine jug or ewer was made by the famous Barnard Family and hallmarked in London 1876. It is in very good condition and stands firmly on a raised circular base.
Hallmarks are clearly struck both to the body and lid which opens automatically when pouring. There is a long slender scroll handle and beautiful decoration overall including the handle. The decoration includes a large vacant cartouche. This is a very fine piece of Victorian silver made by the well respected Barnard family who were silversmiths for several generations.
