Antique Apple Green Opaline Glass Scent/Perfume Bottle with Silver Repousse Lid

  

1023 Antique Green Glass Scent Bottle. A late Victorian green glass scent bottle with silver lid. It dates around 1870-90 and is a high quality example with very attractive apple green opaline glass. The base has been flat ground. The lid is silver, but unmarked (not unusual for scents) and of repousse form.

There is an inner glass stopper. As the silver is unmarked it is perhaps French in origin and this would accord with the glass. A lovely looking example for the collector. Exterior generally good for period, some wear to the body around the base.

There is damage inside the neck with a half moon crack in the glass, this is held in place by the mount and not visible to the exterior. The internal glass stopper is chipped.
