A super quality very interesting Victorian solid silver jar or tea caddy. It is hallmarked for London 1888 with the makers marks being those of Aspreys. It has been beautifully designed have a domed internally gilded lid interestingly engraved with the crest of the Knights of the Maccabee. It is in outstanding condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs - the odd faint mark. The hinge is strong, the inside is clean, and the lid fastens perfectly.
