A beautifully made rare solid silver salt or pepper pot. It has various marks on its foot and tests as high grade silver. I would date it to c1900 most likely made in Hanau Germany. It has been beautifully made in the form of a chick, possibly once gilded. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs - faint push just above the right eye, see final photo. It measures a touch over 2 inches (5.3cms) tail to beak by over 1.5 inches tall and weighs 26 grams. If you have any queries etc...
