WHAT A FABULOUS ANTIQUE HALLMARKED EARLY VICTORIAN HUGE SILVER MEAT PLATE. IT IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And of a stunning weight and very special being in such fine order. A quite fabulous mid 19th century hallmarked silver item. It has a most attractive shape. Assayed in London, 1840 by very good maker Joseph Hodgson.

Fully hallmarked to the base rim. It is engraved twice and always has been, definitely no erasures either (refer to image). The badge is for THE ROYAL LANCASHIRE REGIMENT. This lovely item is very large at 21.5 inches in width. Height is 1.25 inch.

Definitely one for the collectors! A truly special antique lot well worth owning. The condition is very good and all it needs is to be used. Has a light bruise to surface, easily rectified by a good silversmith.

It has scoring to the surface (knife marks) commensurate with age and use. These have not been polished out as it wrecks the patina. Would make a very nice present indeed.

This lovely dish is of exceptional quality and is a most delightful piece of hefty table silver. Weight of actual silver is a staggering 2846 grams (91.51 troy ounces), this piece is made of very thick gauge silver throughout. Splendid dish by a good maker.
