Here is a majestic sterling repose bowl by Galt & Brother, Washington DC, c. 1900 Originally established in 1802, the firm rose to become the premier silversmiths of Washington DC. It was patronized by the likes of Presidents Lincoln and Davis.

It is heavily repose all over with very fine and detailed floral decoration. Very ornate pronounced floral and leaf design.

Footed with top and bottom rim decoration. In the front is a large vacant cartouche. It was never inscribed or monogrammed.

It is in very good condition. Diameter is 9 1/8 Weight is approximately 25 troy oz. Marked Sterling, Hallmarked and signed Galt & Bro. In very good condition with normal and expected wear.
