A beautiful Victorian sterling silver christening cup or mug. It is hallmarked for London 1881 with the makers marks being RM over EH for Martin, Hall & Co (Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall).
It has been beautifully designed being engraved with a children, almost certainly a Kate Greenaway design. It is also engraved to the base To A. It is in good condition being free from holes, splits, distortions and repairs with just a couple of faint dings (small and hard to notice). It measures 2.5 inches (6.3cms) across the base excluding the handle and 3.5 inches (8.7cms) including it by 2.75 inches (7cms) tall and weighs 115 grams.A beautifully made rare example.
