EXTREMELY RARE VICTORIAN SOLID SILVER & FAUX TORTOISESHELL CANDLESTICK. This is a Beautiful Extremely Rare Victorian Solid Silver & faux Tortoiseshell Candlestick , i would estimate this dates to circa 1900 making it over 120 years old, This is a rare Candlestick is stunning from its elegant shaped stem to the oval shape to the base, the rich browns and ornages of the faux Tortoseshell contrast beautifully against the solid silver removable sconce which has a smooth finish and a gadrooned border, this also has a wonderful solid silver border to the base which again has a wonderful garoon decoration, it isnt hallmarked but tests for solid silver. The quality of the craftsmanship is superb. This would have once sat proud of place on a table and been used daily.

This will add something very special to any collection, my photos dont do it justice.. 5.5 inches height (14 cm)..... Across the base 9.5 cm.

Beautiful with a small hairline under where the sconce sits, that being said it doesnt detract at all from its beauty, just mentioned for accuracy and its reflected in the price.
