Sterling Silver Teapot By Edward, Edward Junior, John & William Barnard - Antique Victorian (1841). An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver teapot made by Edward, Edward Junior, John & William Barnard; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver teapot has a plain circular form to a spreading collet style foot. The surface of this antique teapot is plain and embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a dove ringed above the initials'GHK'. This antique teapot is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover surmounted with the original, cast sterling hallmarked silver stemmed bud shaped finial, securing to the interior with a wing nut.

The upper portion of this teapot is further ornamented with an impressive cast and applied scrolling leaf motif to either side of the hinge. This Victorian teapot is fitted with an impressive hallmarked C shaped handle with a plain scrolling thumbpiece and impressive opposing scrolling terminals in junction with the body. The exceptional silver swan necked spout is embellished with a cast and applied scrolling leaf motif to the lip. This exceptional example of Victorian teaware was crafted by the renowned London silversmiths Edward, Edward Junior, John & William Barnard. This Victorian sterling silver teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

There are some minor surface blemishes in keeping with age. The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the teapot, in addition to the part hallmarks to the interior of the cover, handle and finial are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Victorian silverware. Length from back of handle to tip of spout 26.4cm/10.4.
