Sterling Silver Teapot - Antique Victorian (1856). An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver teapot; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This impressive antique Victorian sterling silver teapot has a baluster form in the Louis style. The body of the teapot is embellished with chased scroll, floral and leaf decoration incorporating a scroll bordered shaped vacant cartouche to either side; the scrolling chased border to the upper portion parallels the applied rim to the cover. This Victorian silver teapot is fitted with a plain hinged hallmarked domed cover which retains the original fine and impressive hallmarked cast sterling silver finial realistically modelled in the form of an eagle.

The shaped rim of the cover is encircled with an impressive applied scrolling leaf decorated border. The impressive cast hallmarked silver opposing scroll handle is ornamented with a large, single leaf design which is incorporated into the shaped thumbpiece. The upper and lower sockets of the handle are embellished with cast leaf decoration. The fine and impressive swan necked spout is ornamented with scrolling decoration accented with leaf designs. This antique Louis style teapot is supported on four cast scrolling bracket style feet embellished with stylised leaf and scroll decoration.

This antique teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. The cast and chased decoration to this piece is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside and part hallmarks struck to the cover, handle and finial are all very clear.
