Antique Victorian Celluloid Dresser Box Hexagon w 4 Collars Studs Cluett Peabody. Antique Victorian 1898 P&S English Sterling Silver Match Vesta Safe Case Holder. E V Pledge & Son, Birmingham, England. Approximately 1 3/8" x 1 7/8" x 1/2. Excellent condition with wear commensurate with age and use including small dings and surface scratches.

Interior surfaces have a gold wash in very good condition. The hinge is excellent and the lid closes tightly with a great deal of spring. Hallmarks include the maker's mark, the lion passant, indicating sterling silver, the Birmingham anchor mark and the date mark for 1898.
